Q: I'm new to yoga. Which class is best for me?
If you're new, or returning to your yoga practice, we recommend you try Beginner and Intermediate Flow, Slow Flow, Morning Flow and Restorative Yoga. Once you get a grasp on yoga basics, feel free to try any class! Our instructors will show modifications of poses to fit your level of difficulty.
Q: What should I wear and bring to yoga class?
Wear comfortable, fitted clothing that is flexible while stretching the body. Class can get sweaty, so breathable fabrics are always a good option! Be prepared to practice barefoot. Bring a mat, or borrow one of ours, and a sweat towel for hot yoga classes.
Q: Do I have to pre-register for classes?
You do not have to pre-register, but doing so will help reserve your mat before class fills up! Pre-register by making an account through MIND/BODY ONLINE and selecting the class you wish to attend.
Q: I'm not flexible. Is yoga still for me?
You don't need to be flexible to begin yoga! In fact, a yoga practice is a great way to improve your flexibility. Respect your body's limits, and if you ever need a break, take one in child's pose.
Q: I have / am recovering from an injury. Can I still do yoga?
Yes, you can, as long as you practice safely! Many people suffering from injuries find yoga beneficial to their recovery. Before class begins, make the instructor aware of your injury so they can help you adjust poses accordingly. Never push your body too far- we want you to enjoy class without straining your body!
Q: I'm pregnant. Is yoga safe for me?
Always consult your doctor before beginning a new exercise while pregnant. For some, yoga is a great way to maintain a gentle exercise while pregnant. For others, it may be better to wait until after your pregnancy to begin your practice. If cleared by your physician to do yoga while pregnant, let your instructor know before class!
Q: Is Yoga a religion?
Yoga is a philosophy, not a religion. Many find yoga as an additional method to explore their religious beliefs.
Q: How often should I do Yoga?
You can benefit from as little as one class a week, however the more you practice, the more improvements you will see!
Q: What are the benefits of yoga?
Yoga has many physical and mental benefits. Yoga can increase flexibility, lower blood pressure, tone the body and ease joint pain. Yoga has also been shown to lower anxiety, boost energy, and increase quality of sleep.
Q: Can children come to yoga class?
While our regular classes are not designed for young children, please let us know if your children would like to attend a class! We can set up an individual session or figure out on a case-by-case basis which class would be best. Give us a call at 478-456-5050 for more information!
